Decedent Settlement
Rick Tarulis recently secured a favorable settlement for our clients, grandchildren of the decedent, in a four-year contested probate case. On behalf of his clients, Rick objected to the court appointed Independent Administrator’s incomplete and inaccurate accountings, numerous unnecessary and improper expenses, and excessive and unreasonable fees, as well as raising a number of non-probate issues directed to the Independent Administrator. The settlement was reached after trial of the case began, with the estate agreeing to pay our clients approximately 95% of our pre-trial demand. This not only resulted in a substantial and expedited recovery for our clients, but enabled this probate action and the estate to be closed.
