The law firm traces its roots back to the 1960’s, when Harris Fawell began the private practice of law. For many years the firm rented offices above the Bank of Naperville, at 5th and Washington. In 1972, the law firm moved to the Scott House, which was the Beidelman family home at that time, at 101 North Washington Street. The law firm was known as Fawell, James and Brooks from 1972 through 1990. By then, Harris Fawell was finishing his third term as the U.S. Congressman from Naperville. The firm practiced primarily in local government, real estate and business law for many years.
In 1990, the law firm changed its’ name to James, Brooks, Adams and Tarulis. The name changed again in 1996 to Brooks, Adams & Tarulis. During these years, the firm ranged from six to eight attorneys, and developed an excellent reputation in many areas of law.
In 2011, the law firm became a limited liability company, with the name Brooks, Tarulis & Tibble, LLC. After being located in the Scott House for over 40 years, in August 2016, the firm relocated its office to Naperville’s thriving I-88 Business Corridor at 1733 Park Street. Our new office not only provides greater space for growth and more modern amenities, but it is closer to many of our business clients and provides easier client access. The firm continues to represent many of its original clients. Founding partner Jerry Brooks passed away in 2007.
